The Great Equalizer
04:19
|
|||
Time’s a peculiar thing
Barely forming shapes into meaningful things
It feeds on itself and electricity
Loops back on itself like elasticity
When it starts it’s roughly gravitational
Til it ends up being something confrontational
You’ll be so wound up in it’s threads
Completely consumed while it aggressively spreads
You won’t know where it ends and where it begins
There’s no real way to say for sure how long it’s been
The days they’ll pass you by so fast they always do
The cosmic rust will drag you down and hold you
Time is a waste of time
When you’re pushed through life on an assembly line
It flows but it won’t go anywhere
It’ll suck you dry until you’re barely aware
In your youth intent seems to materialize
Into a ghost that disappears along with all of these years
and leaves you with nothing but yourself
a remnant of consciousness your personal cell
The nights they’ll glimmer by and you, you won’t feel a thing
it’s too late to go back now you’ll feel the sting
They say that time is called the Great Equalizer
It favors no one you’ll soon start to realize her
You’ll be so fucked you’ll wonder how this happened
Now time is up you’ve dug your grave to die in

Shapeshifters
05:26
|
|||
In the beginning we know everything
The naivety of it all
Makes it harder when we fall
Self defenses we engage to guard ourselves
The people that we hurt addicted to the spells
I remember when I thought I had it all
Funny how things change
How they slip and rearrange
The consequences of putting up a wall
To forget all you knew
And transform into someone new
There was a time when things were simple
But that time has come and gone
like the setting of the sun
There are many things that you should know about
Chaos rises to the brim
Will you sink or swim
It’s time to shed the skin of uncertainty
Throw reservation to the wind
And let your new life begin
We’re all shapeshifters trying to fit in
Deceiving all we are
To escape and submerge in sin
The things we tell ourselves just to sleep at night
We escape into the dark to awaken just the same
The skeletons in the closet emerge once again
All the vampires roam the streets looking for blood
Shadows of my past have come to haunt me now
Like some stranger in the room
Emerging from the gloom
Things I thought weren’t ever going to be let out
It’s hard to pretend
As this sinister thirst spreads
There was a time when things were simple
But that time has come and gone
like the setting of the sun
There are many things that you should know about
Confusion will endure
As you hit the floor

Annihilation
05:10
|
|||
Cold air breathes like the static on tv
The replication takes awhile
The crystalline repeats
The forms exhibit intelligence
Unexpected at that stage
patterns on themselves unfolding
Around the bending frames
Abstract comes and goes
quickly oscillating
while daydreams linger like dead trees in the skyline
shadows in the twilight
Isolation then unfolds
Until the wicked truth reveals
I used to hear the communication
somewhere in the trees
Now all I see is the fast decline
Engulfed by the sea
The Annihilation will happen quickly
Without a scream
It’s only a matter of time til everything falls
Cold cleanses all
The morning light paints the tree line like stained glass
Giving hope of prophetic proportions
A deceiving sense of security
Until monochromatic hues take over
I used to hear the communication
somewhere in the trees
Now all I see is the fast decline
Engulfed by the sea
The Annihilation will happen quickly
Without a scream
It’s only a matter of time til everything falls
The cold cleanses all
The obliteration will happen softly
I know that in time all crystals fade
The oscillators slow
The stained glass cracks and breaks

Mirage
05:21
|
|||
There is a room adorned in mirrors
Where the images you see aren’t very clear
fractures along the seams begin to show
The crooked lines drawn inwards start to grow
Fragments in your mind bloom
Untidy parts you can’t remove
It’s said what’s done in darkess comes to light
But delusion skews the blackness
And the dark won’t end tonight
Was it ever real or just a fantasy
In and out of time an empty reverie
:What you see isn’t always what you get
Projections are the symptoms of regret
It’s just a replication of the soul
Cracked pieces to rebuild and make a whole
Do you look into a mirror
And gaze into madness to hide the fear
paranoia from within starts to spread
Redemption is Near
Or at least how it appears
There’s something to be said for owning your own shadow
As the infinite abyss you wade in slowly comes more shallow
The spaces in between the cracks begin to narrow
And the pieces start to fall
The pieces always fall
Was it ever real or just a fantasy
In and out of time an empty reverie
This is how we fall and as we hit the floor
We’re approaching the end
It’s happening again

Ghosts of Repetition
05:27
|
|||
Once there was a time when you were self aware
Now you’re haunting the same house you used to live in
feeding on the flesh of your desires
Until there’s nothing left but bones
Once the flies set in you’re on the move again
But they say old habits never die
The phantoms of our mistakes take us closer
to be stripped away
And slowly fade to grey
Ghosts of Repetition are assembled
Hallucinations of the past are here to stay
There are rules even during wartime
And you’re at war with your own mind
Adrift on the deep ocean of time
The waves like residual energy
The repetition only drives you further
Abandoned out at sea
And when the ship brings you back to shore
To leave you wandering like an unknown shadow
The ghosts of repetition they will haunt you
And keep you coming back for more
One step forward two steps back
Turning illusions into ash
This is only temporary
Unless you drift into the black
